The Potters Hands

Jeremiah 18:2-4

Go down to the potters house, and there I will give you my message.

So I went down to the potters house, and I saw him working at the wheel.

But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

                 It is marvelous to us that God talks to us through his word that he is the creator who knows what is best for us.

Here God is talking to us with an analogy through Prophet Jeremiah that he is the creator of everything and he brings things to existence through his plan and purpose.

The very process of pottery is quite interesting, the potter when he takes a lump of clay he has a plan and a purpose of what shape , and the measurements based on the use of the vessel. In the same way God  has a plan and purpose for your life even before he has formed you in the mothers womb, exactly like the lump of clay in his hands. 

Then the potter kneads the clay rigorously to mold it, similarly when we submit our life into the skillful craftsman our Lord our creator, we experience the molding process though life's circumstances which we might not understand or figure-out is a process of getting ready for God to do his work in our life. This is when we might ask questions why God? why me? why this situations?

Next stage is placing the clay on the wheel and potter uses his skill to shape up the vessel, he works with his hands inside out, just how he works through our life inside out, inside your heart. The wheel rotates to help the potter to bring shape and definition, like the circle of life brings fullness to our destiny.

Now the potter will dry the pot in dark room and later transferred to a hot blazing kiln to bake, to make the pot stronger, in parallel God after working inside out in our life keeps our life hidden to proof it and then allows us to got through the test of fire to bring us out stronger, better.

Meanwhile the value of the clay is multiplied many times when it is molded, shaped and baked. the pot is ready to be used. Our life is ready to be used by God to fulfill the purpose and help others to reach their purpose and plans.

Our God, specializes in making masterpiece out of the broken life and broken heart and broken situations. Today God is waiting for you to come to him with your brokenness, he is willing and always ready to reshape and make it a valuable  masterpiece.

Prayer

Almighty God ! I come to you with my broken life and my situation mold me give me a new shape new purpose a new life to glorify your name. Forgive me for going astray from you, I submit my life to you and you lead me and make me into a masterpiece. In Jesus Name I pray. AMEN !
